The journey by train took only 2h30 to go to that wonderful and worth-seeing city called Bristol. My visit there lasted only one day that’s why I had to make the most of it. To begin with, I visited the Redcliff Cathedral which is the closest major building to the Temple Meads Station. After that it was already noon so I had lunch next to the River Avon and The Arnolfini (which is a great contemporary museum). There is another cathedral quite close to the city centre but it is very similar to the previous one. Another main place to go for the sightseeing in Bristol is the Brandon Hill. Never have I seen such a beautiful place before. It is probably due to the fact that I went there during the autumnal season, the leaves were really colourful it was magnificent! At the top of the hill there is the Cabot Tower which is free and gives you the opportunity to see all Bristol at once, it was great! We stayed there quite a long time to enjoy the landscapes and also to feed some squirrels who are not anymore afraid of the human presence. Then, if you’re interested in art, I would have no hesitation in recommending the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery because of its wide variety of masterpieces (especially the ones from the XXth century). Finally, I went to THE most important thing in Bristol: the Suspension Bridge. At the end of the day, I slept in a youth hostel (YHA) which is, to me, the best option if like me you’re a student (so you run out of money) and if you don’t want to stay too long in the same place.
