Chichester International
Unfortunately, I can’t say that I have been in many different pubs, because most of the time we went to our favourite one: La Havana’s. This is a Spanish pub, which doesn’t mean that there are only Spanish people. No, most of the people are students from Chichester college and specially from Westgate residents hall (where I also live). We go almost every Thursday with a big group of around 20 people, so this is pretty funny. The pub is located in the city centre, somewhere near to H&M, therefore it is just a few minutes walk.
The owner of the pub is a Belgian, who speaks a bit of Dutch and the bartender is Spanish and he plays a lot of Spanish music. However, if you want to hear a different song, he will play that or he just connects your phone to the music installation. Furthermore, the pub has a nice variety of alcoholic drinks for an agreeable price.
This place has a nice bar with lounge benches, where you can sit when you are tired from dancing. Moreover, it has of course, a dance floor with disco lights. Next to that it also has another sitting place, for just drinking. Most of the time people are dancing on the dancefloor or just chilling at the bar because they are drinking shots.
Not only did I go to La Havana’s for drinking, but also to the slug and the lettuce. We didn’t go there for partying; it was more for just drinking a beer. This place is more of a restaurant but it also has nice sitting places. In this restaurant there was more going on than in La Havana’s because it was somone’s birthday.
Moreover, we also went several times to drink cocktails at ‘bar west’. This is pub made in an old church. It looks pretty amazing. The only disadvantage is that the bar is big and there are just a few people, so it looks a bit empty. Also in this pub you can get many drinks and cocktails. For the cocktails they have nice deals, because you can have two cocktails for the price of one.
Furthermore we went out for dinner twice. The first restaurant was an Indian restaurant, which is called ‘the old cottage’. This restaurant had really good food. Also the appearance of the restaurant was very nice. We first started with a kind of entree from the restaurant. It looks like a really tin, crunchy bread with 2 different kinds of sauce and some vegetables, which was very tasty. We also ordered two breads: one with garlic and one with cheese in it. I think we were finished with this food in a few minutes because we liked it so much. After this we got our main dish. You needed to choose what you wanted to have for meat and sauce and we shared the rice together. I chose ‘butter chicken’, which we thought was the nicest dish after trying from each other’s meals. This was because the sauce was so soft and tasty. Everybody ate a lot so there was no little place in our stomach anymore for a dessert. This restaurant was definitely a very good one!
The other restaurant we went to was’ the gourmet burger kitchen’. We wanted to look for a place to eat with all of us because Juan was going back to Spain. We already heard from other people that the burgers were really nice. It was extremely busy inside. In the first instance they said that there was no place enough for a group like ours. Only after wards they said that we could sit on a table, nearer to each other. In this restaurant everybody needed to order separately at the bar. We all choose drinks, a burger and chips. I chose the avocado burger and sweet potato chips, because I love them. The burger was very big, but extremely good. So we had a great evening.
