Yuki Kitahara

 

I am Yuki Kitahara. I came to England in September and stay here till December. My hometown is Aomori in the northern area of Japan. We have a lot of snow there every winter. There is a snow festival every year. Many people make sculptures or lantern which is made of snow. This photo shows you the biggest one in this year’s festival. This is the same size as the real building (as you can see the next picture).

What I like to do is taking photos of foods and views. When I came to England before, I visited many tourist places, for example, Big Ben, tower of London, London bridge, some other places in London, Bath, Oxford, and Bosham. Which I like the best is London bridge. It was built 120 years ago. Surprisingly, you can see bridge lift and how to do it. It was really interesting. Also I want to write about my host family. This is the photo of the dish I ate at the first day in my home stay house. The journey took 12 hours and a half from Tokyo, the capital of Japan, to the heathrow airport. So I was exhausted, and nervous about meeting  the host family whom I was going to stay with for three months. But they were so kind. It was completely  beyond my imagination. I enjoyed the dish and conversation with them although I am not good at talking with new people to me, especially in English.  That is why I never forget this meal. The more time I spend with them, the more I like them. They always encorage me, so I will try to improve my English as long as possible.
